The C-IDEA Design Award 2020 International Jury Members Announced!

The C-IDEA Design Award 2020 revealed  first 6 international jury members. This year, design industry experts from over 20 countries and regions will participate in the Selections for the C-IDEA Design Award 2020. Jurors will include influential Japanese graphic designer Yoshimaru Takahashi, Australia illustrator and educator David Blaiklock, France Automobile Designer Rashid Tagirov, Hungary fashion designer Kerenyi Virag, Japanese architecture Tetsuya Matsumoto, America new media artist Barak Chamo.
Yoshimaru Takahashi / Japan
Graphic Designer /Art Director
The foundation of graphic design lies in the visual representation of modern culture, and creating works that are both of superior quality and communicate effectively. Yoshimaru Takahashi continues to explore forms of visual communication with a degree of warmth and sensitivity toward information, pivoting on unique opinions and a typographic axis. He is positively involved as a lecturer, judge, and in special exhibitions in Japan and throughout Asia, Europe and the world.In addition to superintending his own design office, Kokokumaru Inc., he is also a professor and head of the Design Course at Osaka University of Arts. He is also a visiting professor at Ningbo University in China.Actively involved in design organizations, he is board chairman of the Japan Typography Association.
David Blaiklock / Australia
Illustrator and Educator
He is an illustrator and educator based in Adelaide, South Australia. Since 2000 he has taught in the Communication Design program at the School of Art, Architecture and Design, University of South Australia (UniSA), specializing in Illustration design.He is currently the discipline leader of the new UniSA Illustration and Animation Program (2018), and also coordinate Illustration within the Graduate Diploma and Master of Design programs. His pictures have been produced for use in a broad range of industries including design, advertising, interactive media, animation and publishing. He currently utilize a combination of both traditional (ink, watercolor, drawing, painting) and digital media depending of the purpose and context of the work.
Rashid Tagirov / France
Automobile Designer of Peugeot in France
He graduated from the world’s top design and Art College – Pforzheim University of applied technology, which is also one of the cradles of the world’s three automotive design masters. He has won many awards in the field of automobile and industrial design, such as the sketch fighter SPD automotive concept design award in Milan, Italy, and the “forma” design award of the global industrial design center.
He has successively worked in Renault automobile design center, Volvo Car Design Center and many other well-known automobile enterprises in the world. During his work in Volvo Car Design Center, he participated in the conceptual design of the appearance and modeling of several different Volvo models. Since 2019, he has been working for Peugeot Motor Company in France.
Kerenyi Virag / Hungary
Fashion Designer
Aside from studying at schools like Krea and Metropolitan University, Virág Kerenyi completed her studies in Denmark. She studied fashion styling and later, fashion design. She interned in the headpiece workshop of the Hungarian State Opera House, in San Francisco, and today she is an indispensable part of the costumer design departments of movies shot in Hungary.
Tetsuya Matsumoto / Japan
Architect Designer
He is the Head Architect Designer at the Japanese based Matsuya Art Works and the founder of KTX archiLAB, the Design section part of the same company. After graduating from Osaka University of Art, he has specialized in commercial space design. The project he deals with varies both in scale and type without losing the fine attention given to the smallest details. From interior design to architectural buildings, his portfolio includes Restaurants, shops, Showrooms, Clinics, Schools, beauty salons, sports facilities and much more. The simplicity of the design, being budget friendly, aesthetically impressive while being perfectly functional are intransigent criteria in all the projects he deals with.
Barak Chamo / USA
Media Artist
He is an interdisciplinary media artist living and working in New York. His work explores the limits of perception, what is seen and unseen by the human system. Questioning common notions of progress and value, he attempts to deconstruct the form and function of media, exposing the ways in which our experience is shaped by spiraling social and technological forces.
His research-based practice is inspired by the materiality of media, from the inner layers of digital displays to optical films that reveal the subjectivity of observation – Chamo employs “technological material” in drawing parallels between the limits of our physical and social senses, from the shortcomings of our visual systems to our cultural misconceptions.
Chamo graduated from the Interactive Telecommunication Program at New York University, where he later taught at the Department of Digital Media. He was a resident at MASS MoCA’s Studio program, HoloCenter and IDEALab and was awarded the IDFA Immersive Non-Fiction Award and Special Jury Award for Creative Technology. His work was recently featured at Currents New Media, Fresh Paint Art Fair, Museum of the Moving Image and other international exhibitions.
